Rango now Winston

We renamed Rango to Winston. He is a great addition to our family. He’s happy and friendly and loves to play. He is a smart dog. He learned quickly the boundaries of our yard, with invisible fence, and enjoys chasing the birds and tracking other wildlife all day long. We are working on learning to walk nicely on a lease. This is taking some time but he’s getting there.
We just love this dog. He’s great. And he loves us back.
Thanks for helping to bring him into our life.
Happy Holidays,
From The Olson’s

Nikkie now Chloe

Chloe :) Is doing amazing!! We love our big girl!! Of course we would LOVE to share pictures. She is the perfect addition to our family, I'm so glad we waited for her and drove, well worth every penny. Hope you are doing well.

Onsager Famliy.

Have a great day!!

ELYSSA

Elyssa is doing very well I had put a picture on Facebook with her new friend Phoebe ( American Bulldog ). They get along so well and run up and down the stairs chasing  each other. We are so glad we have her she fits so perfectly and has adapted in our home so well, she is a fierce hunter she has caught 2 mice and 1 bat that was a total shock and we have no idea where she found that.

Elyssa has filled that little void that was missing and so now our little family is complete. She is a little nervous around the grandchildren but when she warms up to them they carry her all over and when she is done playing she goes and takes a nap where no one can find her lol !!!!
Thank you soooo ..........much for her!

Gandy now Siren!

Good afternoon,
Greg and I wanted to let you know how happy we are to have “Siren” home! We adopted him on 10/1/14 as Gandy and renamed him to Siren, as a reminder of where he came from. He is the most kind, gentle and loving dog we have both ever had. The adoption process was simple and bringing him home was a huge joy! The entire family fell in love with him the day we brought him home. Everyone now refers to him as the toddler, because he is such a sweet and silly dog. I attached a few photos of Siren! Please feel free to use as you wish. Thank you again,

Lainie & Greg

Arrow now Ariel!

Arrow is doing well.  We have started calling her Ariel instead of Arrow.  Ariel just seems more appropriate for her.  She has adapted well and gets along great with the cats (she basically ignores them).  She is eating better and seems to be enjoying her new home.  We are very happy to have her in our family.  Thanks again.

A Good Life for Billy!

We adopted an amazing little black lab from your shelter almost 12 years ago after the tornado. You had him named Toby but for some reason he would only come to the name Billy...so that was that. Billy had many happy years and we were so blessed to have him. He was a duck chaser, but would never hurt them, he would let a bunny crawl on his back, he LOVED Frosty Paws doggie ice cream and always slept in bed with us. When Billy got cancer we fixed a way so he could still get up there with us. Billy had surgery for his cancer on his hip. He got through it like a trooper and we had another 2 years with him before the cancer won. He died at our cabin in Minocqua a month ago, his favorite place in the world. He was such a sweet boy, so many people have sent cards because, well...Billy was so special. He was loved and loved so many. He was a gift. Our hearts are broken and the house is empty. But we are greatful to you for him. We will never be the same. In a good way. Our love, our boy, our Billy!

Danni now Letty!

Danni, renamed Letty is doing great.  She's still not so sure about our dogs, but I think it will all work out just fine. Everyday she gets more and more loving towards us.  Our other cat, Storm and her hit it off right away, I think there was only one hiss even and it was from her. He was really in need of another feline companion after the loss of his lifelong friend.  Thank you so much for our wonderful girl.  We love her already!

Blue's Update!

I wanted to write and thank you for taking such good care of me while I was at the Burnett County Humane Society!  I am enjoying my new home.  As you can see from the pictures, I appropriated a smaller animal bed to use as a pillow with my bed - I even rolled it up myself!  Mom rearranged the furniture a bit for me because I seem to like to sleep against the wall.  I have a big yard and there are LOTS of things to smell!  The house has many windows for me to look out of.  Sometimes mom and dad have to close the shade in the entry because I get so distracted looking out the window I can't eat my supper.  There are cows in a pasture next to us and I find them just fascinating.  I could look at them for hours.  Thanks again for taking care of me.  Mom and dad say I am the perfect dog!

Sincerely,

Blue

Blue!

HSBC Picture
Thanks for the extra information about Blue. We LOVE her. She is doing very well. We took her to the vet today. He was a little concerned about her incision and did not think it was ready for the stitches to come out yet. She was not running a temp, but he gave us an antibiotic as a preventative. The incision is still draining a little bit, but he thinks it will heal up and the stitches will be ready to be taken out next week. Everyone at the vet commented on how pretty she is. She seemed very nervous on the way there, but I think she was afraid we were going to take her somewhere and not bring her back. She was much calmer on the way home and was very happy to get back in the house. She is eating well and seems quite content. It is nice to have a smiling dog around the house again!

Tank!

Tank is doing great.  He's in the horrible biting stage but otherwise he's gained about 10lbs and seems to be adding a pound a day.  We just got new cell phones so as soon as I get my pictures transferred I'll send you pictures.    Teresa

Follow-up:

Here are some pictures of Tank.   We have signed him up for puppy class which starts next week.  He's a loveable, handful.  He is very stubborn.  He's going to be a wonderful watchdog, he's very alert and doesn't bark.  He is however scared of any big dogs that bark at him, if they don't bark he's ok.

May now Charlotte!

Hello,

Sorry it took so long to respond but little Charlotte (May) has been keeping me busy and I couldn't figure how to attach pictures from my phone. She is so playful and has a lot of energy, but she demands her snuggles too. She makes the cutest cricket or bird-like noises while she plays. The first picture is of her and her favorite toy. We had to go get more because she pulled out all if the sparkles in this one already. Sarah

Callie Update!

Callie is doing much better. We let her off the leash and she loves to run! She stays close and loves to explore our yard and now the pond edges! Still has a hard time coming to us but is usually excited to see me so she'll run up. A
piece of salami does the trick. Heres another picture of her by our pond!

Butch now Smokey!

After four days of debate between all family members we settled on Smokey. The first week was challenging but Smokey is calming down and learning the lay of the land here. We started obedience classes Tuesday and we are doing our homework, which he enjoys. It's hard to get a good pic. When you try he sticks his nose up to the camera right away but here's one.

Leonard now Bodie!

Thank you so much for the follow up. Leonard has been renamed to Bodie and is doing absolutely wonderful. He loves to snuggle and play. This week he has hit the stage where he is bounding everywhere and very playful. He is so adorable. He is a kneading and purring machine, I love it. We play hide and seek and chase which he loves. Also he loves to pounce and jump at the wand toys and balls that I have for him. He is amazing with the litter box, scratching posts and my house. He doesn’t get into any trouble and is starting to learn the word no. We are working on the word no when I eat. He is getting better when I eat however just can’t resist the smell of eggs.

His kitty claws were pretty sharp so I clipped them a few days after getting him home. I had a kitty in the past so knew the proper way to clip them (avoiding the quick) and he did wonderful. We are going to be visiting the vet for his first visit this week.

His favorite spot to nap is right on my chest or under my chin, he loves to get kisses on the face and even nuzzles up for them himself, especially in the mornings in bed. He is still figuring out his favorite places to nap in my apartment. He loves to climb the cat tree that I have and loves to sleep in and on it. I also find him from time to time sleeping on a blanket on my couch and under my bed. I am hoping that he likes the cat bed that I got for him recently but he still hasn’t slept in it, so we will see.

We even took a road trip (30 min) to my parents’ house this weekend. They have a house about 3 time the size of my apartment so he was loving the space and the sunny window sills. He adjusted very quickly to his new surroundings and loves my parents. He learned very quickly where his food, water and litter box was located when we stay at my parents’ house. My dad must be a kitty whisper because Bodie just loved him. My mom was pretty jealous. We have always been a family that loves cats so they were very excited to meet Bodie and spend time with him.

I love Bodie so much and he is such a wonderful companion for me. He brightens every minute that I spend with him and is just the perfect kitty for me. I want to thank you all from the Humane Society of Burnett County so much for letting me become the proud adopter (parent) to Bodie!

I will be sure to post pictures now and in the future of Bodie on your Facebook site for the Humane Society also.  Please feel free to share my pictures and email with everyone at the Humane Society of Burnett County.

Thank you again so much,
Kristin

Zooey now Ruby!

Zooey actually has a new name.  We found she answers to Ruby, so we call her Ruby.  She is doing well, my boys adore her.  We have many acres where she can run but we keep an eye on her, she likes to follow her nose.

The 1st couple of days she didn't eat or go to the potty.  Now she eating plenty and going potty regularly.

My whole family loves her and we have already made her a part of our family!
