Capone!

Sorry it's taken me a couple days to get back to you! He is doing really well and both dogs are getting along. I was a little concerned at first because Capone seemed to be a little toy-aggressive towards my other dog. He has been doing a lot better though and they play all the time!

He did have mild separation anxiety whenever I left the house for the first week or so - he seems to be doing better in that sense too, but it's crazy how attached they get so quickly. I mean from my end as well - he's so funny with toys and he just loves everything about everyone.

I still need to make the appointment to get him to see the vet for the 8th - things have been a little hectic the last couple weeks, but I will call and will be able to bring him up that day!

Thank you so much for helping me with this process - he's a great dog and I'm very happy with how things are going :)

Tuesday!

Tuesday is doing great! I think he has settled right in. I can't believe no one snatched this guy up before us, but we are grateful we got to bring him home.

He has pretty good house manners and is very gentle. He might be a bit big for a lap dog but he doesn't seem to know that. They told us when we picked him up that he likes tennis balls ... for sure. We play fetch for at least a 1/2 hour every day after work, as well as take a 1/2 mile + walk. He hasn't chewed on anything in the house, but can really do a number on chew toys. We solved the problem by substituting rawhides for "chew time" and balls for "play time".

It has been a real joy having him around. It is nice to be able to go for a walk and forget about work every day when I get home and curling up by the fire in the evening just can't be beat.

I will be making a vet appointment for him at our local vet just so that they have him on record.

He does very well with Sit and Shake and he has picked up on Down to lay down. Stay is a work in progress but is coming along pretty well.

One thing that would be helpful would be for the shelter to let people know what commands he is used to. We just happened to overhear a volunteer use "manners" to make him wait to follow you out the door. He does very well with this command, but it was just by chance that we found out he knows it. Other than that, Brenda was great to work with.

We will add a couple new happy photos to the facebook page soon.

Thanks,

Mitch & Amy

Squirt now Gandy!

Squirt has been re named Gandy and is a perfect addition to my life. She has a loving soul as you see by her hug and love with a big dose of courage as she and her sister dog become acquainted. I hope to get back up soon to return the travel case. I am glad we found each other.

Cleopatra!

HSBC Picture
Cleopatra seems to be working out just fine.  She hides a little bit in the day (I think it is a time-out for her with everything being so new).  Fluffy seems to be getting on well with her and she seems to like him.
Thank you
Gladys

Bonnie now Bella!

HSBC Picture
Bella aka Bonnie is adapting to her new home really well.  She has got my mini dachshund running around a track we made in our yard.  The 2 cats just look at her and walk away.  She has learned the house rules really fast.  She has woven herself into our hearts and we are so blessed to have her in our home.  Thank You so much she has brought laughter in the house again......she chases snowballs like a cat chases a mouse. I don't have any pics yet to busy playing with her outside and going on walks, will send one soon (hopefully)

Moose & Zues!

Zues - HSBC Picture
Moose - HSBC Picture
Moose and Zues are doing wonderful! The are actually fitting in very well! As to expect with two puppies who are in the process of potty training they are actually learning pretty quick! Moose is getting the hang of it a little faster than Zues, but all in all they are learning and are very happy puppies. As far as issues the only one that we are having is it seems like they are both trying to dominate one another, little bit of fighting but nothing to major. we are on them though and I think once one of them establishes dominance that will mellow them down a bit. They are so wonderful though, the kids do a great job of helping out with them and they are very loving and attention getters. They're a great fit to our family and fit in very well. Now if only we could get some nice weather so we could all spend a little more time outside would be great!!! Thank you very much for all your help and feel free to either send me an email or call to check up on them. They love it here!

Tank!

Hi:
So far I like my new home. Me and the Phantom (the other kitty) are getting along pretty good. It took a few days for her to warm up to me. If she hisses at me I just "plunk" my butt down and look cute. This has worked pretty good, we are now sitting together and playing together. There are cool kitty toys here--balls, kitty race track, the "tweeter" track. I get to sit on the couch and recliner with the humans. Being I like to sit on the floor, they found a rug just for me. I have not been jumping on the counters or table--at least not that the humans know about--and they like this about me. The humans don't understand how a big kitty like me can have such a little squeaky voice. Having a good time.
