REX
Rex looking out the window.

As soon as my husband, Dan, and I brought Rex into our home, he went sniffing around to every corner of the house.  That was that, and it's been our home since.

The first week we finally worked out a schedule. Of course Rex needs to go out first thing in the morning and last thing at night.  But he likes to eat his second bowl of food in the middle of the night!  He's not much of a playing fetch dog, but we're working on it. He has brought us a squeaky newspaper after we threw it and said, “Fetch!”  We need to get him really excited about the toy- like something big is going on.

Rex was good while walking on the leash. He started to pull a bit so we worked with him on heeling. He does a great job!  We don't make him heel all the time, but Rex knows he needs to leave some slack in the leash. He will heel when asked.  We've had a problem with Rex turning around at the end of the drive to head back to the house. He's doing much better at it now.

Rex is really a sweet dog.  We are having fun teaching him new things. We use a positive approach and always have those Zukes mini treats to reward Rex when he's learning something new.  Sometimes I stuff the treats in a small Kong and he figured out how to get them out using his paws to spin the Kong.

Rex could sit and lay down when we got him.  He has learned to give his paw to shake, stay with treats 6-8 feet away and wait until he's given the “come” signal to go get the treat, let leash holder out the door first, sit or lay outside the kitchen when we eat, and so much more!  We're so proud of him!  We love him so much and he loves us back.

That’s the most important part of the whole story

This adoption has made us so very happy! Thank you!

BUDDY/WORMY
Buddy is doing fabulous. He is a well-mannered, perfect boy. He did start limping the morning after bringing him home. We took him to the vet, turned out he had Lyme’s Disease. He just finished his course of medication.

We still call him Buddy. His nickname is Wormy as he is very wiggly. All of the dogs love to run around the farm, they all go on runs through the woods chasing after Jon on the four-wheeler.

Buddy and our dog Zeus are BEST OF FRIENDS. They are constantly with each other, they play ALL DAY LONG. We tease and say it is as if we got our dog Zeus a dog, as he and Buddy are inseparable. Our other dog Sophie still gives all of her love to a stick or a ball.

Buddy’s original family must have loved him very much as he is a fabulous dog. I would like his original parents to know that we love him dearly and are thankful to them for raising such a wonderful dog. He fit right in with our family with no effort whatsoever. He hasn’t batted an eye at the chickens. He is a little too curious with the cat, however the cat holds her own with the dogs and she remains the queen in control. I truly would like his original family to know that we will love and provide the best home possible for him. I am sure that it broke their hearts to have to give him up as it is evident that he was loved and well cared for.

We plan to stop by with Buddy for a visit one day. I am sure that Ray would like to see him again.

On our way to pick up Buddy from you we happened to drive by a construction company selling trucks. We bought the Pooch Wagon on the spot. It is perfect for hauling the dogs to the swimming hole, rides into town and yes, they even like to sit in the van in the yard.

We honestly couldn’t be more happy with Buddy!!

Here is Jon walking the dogs down the ½ mile path to the swimming hole. Buddy is on the far right, Sophie is in the middle and Zeus is on the left. Everyone is required to walk behind Jon in formation.

Everyone in the Pooch Wagon after swimming, getting ready to head home, Buddy has the blue collar, Sophie has the stick, and best friend Zeus is in the back.

Buddy and Zeus lying on the couch together… Buddy is on the left, Zeus is on the right. BEST FRIENDS!!

Tommy is doing good, has adjusted well to living in the house with me and my dad and roommate, still needs some training mostly with barking and leash pulling. We've decided to just leave his name the same as Tommy. Over the weekend he got to play for most of the day with my aunts dog Cinder, seemed to have a really good time, slept well that night. Haven't had any problems with him being around other dogs, or kids. Not sure if you can tell me or not, he's always really excited when someone comes home, do you know if he was abused before being given up to the shelter?

MAY (MAIZIE)
We are head over heels in love with our puppy dog, Maizie (May for short). We all moved in to our new big apartment the 1st of October and May has lots of room to run around. She loves the park next door and especially all the squirrels here in Minneapolis, they're much slower and less cautious than the ones in Wisconsin, and she's pretty convinced she's going to catch one!

The day we got Maizie home we realized she was going to be a funny dog. She loves laying on her back with all four paws in the air, wiggling around and looking for love! She's a total cuddle bug, and just can't get close enough to whomever will give her pets. She loves new people, dogs, and especially little kids!

She's probably spoiled, she had more toys then we do, she loves her treats, but most of all she loves laying in the sun on the couch or then bed after a long walk!

Here's some pictures of our sweetheart, she's my first ever dog and Sam and I could not be more in love!

Thanks!!

PATCHES
The tiny runt that I raised since he was 2 days old has turned into a healthy, handsome, 4 1/2 month old kitten. Patches is doing great and we just adore him. He loves to chase and torment his big sister cats Sunshine and Scarlett, and also lab Molly. We are so happy we decided to keep him, (most of the time) and he has brought more love and energy to our home. I have attached a picture of him as a scrawny baby, and also a recent picture of our beautiful boy.
