CODY (ODIN)
It was exactly three years ago today that I adopted Odin, a lively lab mix, from your shelter.  His name has changed to Cody, and he is my shadow.  I couldn't be more pleased with my choice, or love him more than I do.

I can't tell you how many times I have been complimented on him, as he really is a good dog.  Most people are amazed that he was a shelter dog, as he is extremely well behaved, even tempered, and lovable.  They tell me how lucky I was to get such a good dog, and I agree completely.

If there is any drawback to the adoption, it would be that he hardly ever lets me out of his sight.  This makes kayaking and paddleboarding EXTREMELY difficult, as he always wants to be near me.  I am going to try to send you a picture (from my phone) of the two of us paddleboarding.  He has a way to go to get his balance down, but then, I'm not exactly a pro myself!

Thank you for the service you provide to the community.  I'm so glad I was able to find my special friend three years ago.

KATIE (KATRINA)
I had a very pleasant conversation with the person (Barbara) who adopted Katie. She told me that Katie is doing real well. Katie is trained to go downstairs around 10-10:30 p.m. every night and is let up after 6:00 a.m. the next day. Otherwise, Katie has been known to eat the dog’s food. Poor Lucy (their dog) doesn’t do anything about it, but then wasn’t getting her full meals while Katie was getting fatter. When Barbara first got Katie, she noticed that Katie had terrible gas and couldn’t figure out why it was so bad. They now think it was because Katie was eating dog food. Katie is about 5 years old and is definitely a Lynx Point Siamese cat - which I found most interesting because the cat I fostered through the winter was also a Lynx Point Siamese cat, and I didn’t know it till Barbara shared this information with me. I guess a Lynx Point Siamese cat is a mix of a Siamese and a light tabby, which makes sense if you see a picture of this type of cat. Barbara got Katie a toy the other day that has a pull string with a ring on it and then it moves across the floor. Katie watched Barbara once and now Katie pulls the ring on the string all by herself. In otherwords, she’s a smart cat and can entertain herself. She also loves her paper bags. She’s a very happy little kitty and likes to be on you, but ready to go downstairs at 10-10:30 p.m., partly because she wants to eat and partly because she likes her alone time. Sounds like Katie found herself the purrfect home! Thanks, Barbara, for taking the time to talk to me today; not to mention educate me on Lynx Point Siamese cats. You made my day!

ELLIE (KATNISS)
Ellie (aka Katniss) is adjusting quite well to her new family. She loves to show us how smart she is and knows that she needs to wash her feet in a tray of water before coming back in the house (so cute how she steps in and looks up at me for guidance). Here is a pic of her and her new sister enjoying their deer antlers.
