RANGER (TYLER)
I talked to Ranger’s new owner and she told me they were a little concerned when they first brought Ranger home to the farm because he wanted to chase the cattle. However, one day when he decided to get a little too close to a calf, he got kicked. That was the end of him bothering the cattle. He is now used to the cows, the cats and kittens, and the chickens. One big happy family. Ranger found a place he likes to sleep near a bench in the basement, where it is cool and also where their previous dog used to sleep. Ranger is not a fan of fireworks, gunshots or thunder storms. He does love to have his belly rubbed. Ranger is doing very well.

ROLLO!!

July 5, 2017
Hi Pam - Just letting you know that Rollo is still doing good. I think he thinks he's a dog, what a character. He sure doesn't act like he's 8 but Dr Tom said that's about right. He needs his teeth cleaned but I haven't scheduled it yet. Take care!

As I write this, it has now been five weeks that Rollo has been living with us.  Rollo spent a lot of time at the HSBC before entering our lives so he was very curious about everything in the outside world.

His first few days were spent exploring and learning about the living area on the upper level of our house.  He spent lots and lots of time running from one place to another just looking around and learning that he would have to get along with the two Labrador girls.  After a few days he learned that the couch belongs to the dogs so has now found his own chair.  He does manage a few minutes on the couch with one dog or the other and periodically in between both dogs.

He finally graduated to having access to the entire house and discovered that he really likes dropping his little ball down the steps and running down to retrieve it, bring it back up only to drop it down again.  He did discover that the dogs tails look like swinging ropes and has several times batted them around a few times.  The dogs just give him “the look,” get up and move to another spot.

Now Rollo does what just about every cat does, eat, sleep and play.  We are so happy with him and must say he has been a really good boy.  He spends lots of time watching the squirrels and birds on the deck as well as sitting on my lap for his petting every night.

Thanks to the HSBC for keeping him safe for so many months and letting us adopt him.

Guess I'll try this. Rollo is really moving along with his training. He now sleeps on the couch with one of the dogs not both of them yet. He comes when we call him and is really being a good boy. We still keep him in the kennel when we are away from home and during the night but he's out all the rest of the time. I can't believe how well behaved he is after being corrected. Will try to keep you up to date if I can figure this out.
