GIDGET

Gidget (we kept her name) has been a wonderful addition to our family.  She's such a sweetheart and greets everyone with a tail wag.  Her favorite is belly rubs and cuddling with her human brother and sister.  We are working on leash training. Her hound nose likes to pull us in her direction, but it's a work in progress!  We've fallen in love with her in just a few short weeks. Best decision ever! 

SHEREKAHN (JUSTICE)

Spoke to Marlene (the new parent of Justice). Justice is now known as Sherekahn, which means “tiger king.”

Marlene says: “He is fat and sassy. He’s magnificent. He’s a wonderful companion. He’s entertaining. He’s just a dear. I love him very much. He’s very active. He can jump so high, it scares you. He’s turning into a little cougar. He climbs up on the top of the refrigerator to get to the cupboards. With the first snow, he went crazy and was trying to bat at the snowflakes through my screen and made a little hole in the screen. I do guard him very closely. When meals on wheels come, I give him a treat in the bathroom until my meal arrives. When I die, Gigi stands next in line.” (Gigi is her granddaughter from California who helped pick him out at the shelter.) Marlene said that Sherekahn has a home as long as she lives AND will have a home with Gigi when the times comes that it may be necessary.

CLOVER (JILL)

Spoke to Mike (the new parent of Jill). Mike and his co-worker were the ones that found and rescued Jill and her brother Jack from the middle of a busy road. Although Mike wasn’t planning on getting another dog, he felt a little pull to adopt Jill. As luck would have it, his co-worker also ended up adopting Jack. Jill’s new name is Clover and she was getting together with her brother the day I called to get an update on her. Mike has another dog; a 7 year-old husky mix male. He says they get along pretty well. Clover is still a work in progress with housebreaking and learning new tricks. Mike’s girlfriend says that Clover is “a total Momma’s girl!”
