Bennie

Bennie loves "Dora the Explorer" just as much as our 2 year old. He has been such a wonderful addition to our family. He makes his rounds during the night sleeping with everyone including our Black Lab Jack, (who used to be very afraid of cats...LOL...he got over it quickly.) Bennie is very affectionate and not shy in any way. He hears the door open and just like the dog has to see who it is. Thank you for allowing us to adopt him he completes our large family of kids and animals.

We decided to re-name J.R. Willy... as in "will he poop inside, or out?" He's learning, though. I made him a fleece tunnel to snuggle up in, and it works well to protect our hands from his teeth when we play rough. Nancy

We adopted Rocky on September 14 of last year. He is an awesome dog. We love him very much. He is still pretty much blind of course. The vet says there are happy dogs and then there is Rocky. He is the happiest dog we have ever known. We are thankful for him everyday. Thanks,Peter and Heidi

Good Morning! I wanted to let you know that we renamed Wrinkles, Bella. She is doing well. We took her to our vet last week to have her stitches removed and she weighed 25#. She rides very well in the car. She and our boxer mix, Emily are very good friends as you can see from the picture I have included. She isn't afraid of the other two dogs, but plays well and is drawn to Emily, which was really our hope. Bella is crate trained, now working on broken, which she is improving every day a little bit more. She went out the doggy door, but couldn't figure out how to come back in. When she is a little bigger and can get that figured out, the potty business should become much easier for us all. I think she is happy here and I know that we enjoy her silly personality. I hope you find good homes for all of your animals this year.Andrea

Dixie

My husband and I were so fortunate to adopt Dezzy (now Dixie) from you on December 10. I have attached a Christmas picture of Dixie. She is a delightful dog, growing bigger every day and thoroughly enjoying her new life. Our 10 year old golden mix, Goldy, is her best friend and Dixie seeks every opportunity to play with her, lay by her, and in general make her presence known. Dixie loves her walks each day, almost as much as she loves eating. We couldn't be happier with Dixie-she has brought great joy to our home. Thank you so much for all you do for the animals of northwestern Wisconsin. We monitor your site regularly and realize the vast need there is for good homes for the many pets without one. Memphis

Hello -My name is Holly and we adopted Nonny (Now Memphis) last October. I just wanted to let you all know that he is doing great and is a sweetheart! He is blind in the one eye that was sunken when we adopted him but the vet says as long as it is not causing him any pain he is fine just the was he is YAY!! His bright blue eye makes up for it, he is so handsome, such a pretty coat too. He loves playing with his big brother Hammy and they both now have a fenced back yard to play in now that we moved to Hudson January of this year, and he gets to play at the cabin every once in awhile throughout the spring, summer, and fall. I just wanted to let you know he is doing great and we love him so much, he is so funny, makes us laugh every day and thinks he is a lap dog! Thank you so much for allowing us to give him his forever home!Holly and Jason

Lovec

Hi there,

My husband, Brian, and I adopted Freckles in August. We did change his name, though. It's now Lovec - pronounced Low-Vech. It's Czech for 'hunter'.

He has been a great addition to our family and he gets along great with his older brother, Dylan. Dylan is a French Brittany Spaniel/Golden Retriever Mix.

He brings some quality entertainment to our household and I'm SO SO SO glad we found him at your shelter. Thanks again to Lori who brought him to Sauk City for us to pick him up.

Attached are some pictures of the little - soon-to-be-not-so-little - guy. I thought you'd enjoy seeing these.

Thanks,
Ann
