Bootsie!
Hi all, we've had Bootsie now for about 3 months and we just adore him! Molly our lab and the 3 other cats really have enjoyed having a new little "brother". All three cats take turns mothering him and playing with him. They tear through the house chasing each other which is such entertainment for us and anyone who comes to visit. There is never a dull moment. When everyone is worn out from play they sometimes cuddle with Bootsie. He is such a good, wonderful little fellow, we are thrilled we adopted him! Lincoln!
He
is doing so well; he adjusted VERY quickly and has deeply bonded with all of us.
He loves my boys and loves when the daycare kids are here. Hes so excited to
greet them each morning!
He
loves to play fetch with tennis and soccer balls but wasn't too sure about the
frisbee. :0) Also loves taking walks out in the country or in town.
He
is doing well physically also; he has had only one mild stomach upset
and slightly pink ears since we brought him home and he is now totally on a
grain-free diet. His first visit to the chiropractor will be this
Saturday.
We
are working on his training here at home and are signed up for Obedience Level 1
at the local Humane Society, starting in September.
The
only issues weve had to work on is when we first brought him home he could
not go down our stairs. He had no problem with the deck stairs but could not go
down from the upstairs to the main floor. My husband had to carry him downstairs
the first four mornings but then he got the hang of it and now he flies down
like a pro. The other issue that were still working on, is that he so
desperately wants to play with our cats and lunges at them most times they get
within his reach. Hes doing better and Im sure well get to the point, soon,
where they all can be in the same room with ease.
Thank you so much for helping to make Lincoln a
part of our lives and for all you do for the animals waiting for their forever
families! Staff at the Burnett County HS are all blessings to so many people and
animals and we appreciate all you do.
Jen
Ive attached three photos and as you will see, his ears are starting to
stand up!

Jaspen's 1st Camping Trip!
This is Jaspens 1st camping trip. She did really good - had no problem sleeping in the bunk of the camper. She did find a bag of fish guts with a rip in it and rolled in it very enthusiastically! She's wet because she had to go into the river to get some of the stick washed off. First thing we did when we got home was give her a bath! Today she was playing in the tub and noticed the soap bottle. She sat in there barking at it, till she touched, it fell and scared her! She is so funny. She went to the vet today for her final puppy shot, plus to get on heartworm med and have a Lyme's vac. She weighed 36 pounds. She is more like a lanky pre-teenager now than a rooly pooly puppy. those legs just keep growing, but haven't caught up with the feet yet. You did a great job of giving her a good start both physically and socially. She is an awesome dog.

Clive now Tucker!
He is
doing well. The stitches from his neutering bother him, but we try to
distract with toys. Lots of walks, but he still wants to pull really
badly. I am on the list for obedience class, so hope that will help.
We renamed him Tucker, which he responds to. Have attached pics of
Tucker....eating his ice cube, playing with toys, sleeping after a
walk....he is like my woodtick, follows me everywhere :) He can swim
too, I keep him on his leash, but he tries to get the dragonflies, even
if it means swimming out to try to get them. He also scampers back and
forth, biting at the waves as they hit the shore when boats go by. I
think he is happy.
Will
update you on how is obedience training goes - really just want him to
stop pulling the lead. Oh, and he loves giving kisses! Spends some
time with me and his pug sister up on the couch while I drink my morning
coffee. He usually leans against me and takes a nap.
CandaceDelmar now Kidders!
Here is a picture of him playing. He has adjusted very well, and he
already thinks he rules the roost. LOL He and the dog are getting along just
fine, they have been getting their boundaries understood, and he sleeps all
night long, until 5 am and then his little alarm clock goes off, and he thinks
it time to attack anything that moves...
He has been eating dry food as well as some moist – and he is drinking
water, I have been keeping an eye on that, making sure he gets enough liquids
and solid foods... his poop is more solid, as on the way home with him on
Tuesday, he threw up twice and had the poops and I felt so bad for him. But, he
would finally close his eyes and fall asleep. When we got him home, we got him
situated, and within a couple of hours he was starting to venture around the
living room, checking out everything. On day #2, he found he can run from room
to room like a shooting star, and went around and around- until he got tired. By
day three, he finally got his bearings and started investigating some other
rooms – checking out everything around him.
Saturday and Sunday, he has been taking his cat naps, and play, nap and
play... between eating- I think he has adjusted very well. He cuddles up with me
during the day and of course, has made himself part of the night time sleeping
habit. He is getting use to different noises and seems to be relaxed and fitting
right in with the household.
It feels nice to have another pet to our family again! Kidders is a great
addition!
Thank you and hope you enjoy the picture.

Maggie!
She is doing very well, and is slowly learning to be around people.
She did very well camping this weekend with all of our friends. She is
not happy when sighting other dogs though, but met our sons Golden this
weekend and they had a ball. Has a little bit of separation anxiety
when we are at work, does not like Kleenex or laces in my shoes. A few
growing pains to overcome but all is well in her new homes. 4 photos
total.
Thanks,
Tom & Kathy
