GYPSY
I called and
spoke to Gypsy’s new owner, Agnes. She said that Gypsy has her “wrapped around
her little fingers” (AKA paws). She was extremely overweight when she was
surrendered to the shelter, and has lost 5 pounds since being adopted less than
a month ago. Gypsy has another 5 pounds to go before she can be spayed. Whenever
Gypsy starts whining and begging for food, Agnes tells her that Dr. Tom says no.
She’ll just sit there and look at Agnes and Agnes always blames Dr. Tom for
Gypsy not getting table scraps. Gypsy LOVES going outside. She has a fenced-in
back yard, but enjoys running around the front yard and does not stray far from
Agnes. When Agnes’ brothers came for a visit, one of them got up every morning
at 6:00 for a run. Gypsy went with him for the entire almost two mile
round-trip run. She doesn’t wear a leash because she is so well-behaved. Agnes
lives on a pretty private road, with just her and another neighbor living on
this road. There is little traffic to worry about. Gypsy also loves car rides
and will start whining when she sees Agnes getting dressed and doing her hair,
because she knows Agnes is going somewhere. Gypsy stays in the back seat, like
a good girl, during her ride. Agnes’ brother also took Gypsy on her first
four-wheeler ride. Gypsy was a little shaky, so he kept her on his lap for the
duration. Gypsy started off sleeping in her kennel in the porch, but seemed to
wake up around 4:30 in the morning, every morning, so Agnes moved her
porta-kennel into the bedroom and now Gypsy is content with sleeping through
the night. Gypsy loves the porch during the day, especially when there is a sun
beam to lay in. Gypsy is an only child and Agnes “loves her to death!”
