First we have changed her name to Maggie and after a short time she does recognize the change.
I
took her to our vet and he agreed that she is most likely 5 years old.
During his checkup of Maggie it became very obvious that she has been
well cared for in the past. Her teeth are perfect and she is used to
being handled and was very calm and happy.
As she has become
more ingrained in our family her personality has come out more and she
is a joy to have with us. She has not had one accident in our home, has
never even picked up anything that was not given to her, no shoes and so
on. We had her for 5 days before we herd her bark one time at an unruly
dog at the pet store.
We will begin obedience training at the
end of February only because it is a prerequisite to therapy dog
training. We will see how it goes but she seems to have the personality
to touch many people.
