Luke Skywalker has been renamed Tucker and he is doing fantastic in
his new home! I can't believe how quickly he is adjusting--and after
less than a week, we already can't imagine life without him. Our kids
(Maya, James and Jenna) absolutely love him!
Lots of family and friends have been stopping over to meet him and he
is just so happy and friendly with everyone he meets. Our two cats were
nervous about him at first but he was so mellow with them that they
quickly realized he wasn't a threat. That introduction
went better than we could have hoped.
We are crate training him and he loves his little "den." When we say
"bed," he goes right in now and lays down. Very smart little guy. He
still cries some at night but we put a ticking clock next to his crate
and that seems to help. A couple of nights
ago, we got him excited about a game of fetch and we saw the retriever
in him come right out! He ran for his toy and brought it back to us for
half an hour, which I thought showed very good attention for a little
pup.
I'm attaching three photos: with two of our children at a picnic in
the park last Sunday; playing with his new toys; and hanging out on the
deck. We couldn't be happier with Tucker! He is such a good boy.
We'll be taking him to our vet next Thursday
to check on the worm situation and see how his little incision is
doing.
Thank you for everything! We'll be in touch! We don't have a
picture yet of the whole family together but we'll send one when we do.
